Get your ticket online, choose the night session (Friday night weekly) as there should be fewer visitors 😉
We bought the ticket in advance directly from their website , got the audio guide (was located at the 2nd level) with an extra fee and printed the ticket. A tip: be in the queue earlier than scheduled. We ‘accidentally’ cut the line heheheh so we didn’t really have to queue. Just be prepared that the line would be looonnngg. Of course, the highlight was the Sistine Chapel, however I also found the Map Room to be sublime! Every inch of the wall and ceiling were decorated in bright colors.
Sooo many gorgeous antiquities, sculptures, paintings, … breathtaking. There were 2 routes to Sistine Chapel available: the shorter and longer route. The signages were visible, easy-peasy!
